Odisi was delirious. He could not move. He could not control his muscles, but he could feel his body being dragged across the ground. Dried blood caked his face, covering much of his ability to see the goings on, but he could tell he was outside the cave once again. The light touched down on the jungle floor, and Odisi tried to smile. He thought that if this were the end for him, at least he would get to die under the sun, and not in some rotten smelling cavern.

Abruptly, Odisi's movement ceased. He could tell his arms dropped to the ground now, though he still could not feel them. Surely, it had been the beast that dragged him outside by his arms. He tilted his head to the side, coughing up some excess blood that had gathered in his mouth. He lay next to the dead beasts he had slain earlier. Somehow, it seemed fitting to him.

Then, a pair of feet stepped in his line of sight. They were a dark olive tone, dressed in animal skin sandals.

Sandals? Odisi was outright perplexed. What is this man killer?

He moved his eyes upward, struggling in the process, coughing up more blood. What Odisi saw, he could not believe. "No. . . ." he said, exasperating. "It . . . cannot . . . be. . . ."

The man killer stared blankly back at him.

With still much exertion in his voice, Odisi affirmed, "We . . . did away with . . . your resistance . . . long . . . ago. . . ."

For Odisi now lay helplessly looking upon his kind's old foe . . .

. . . a human.
